Purdue Pharma Pleads Guilty to a Trio of Criminal Charges in $8B Opioid Crisis Settlement
The Justice Department announced today that Purdue Pharma, the company behind OxyContin, will plead guilty to three federal criminal charges and pay more than an $8 billion settlement and close the company for its role in the opioid crisis. The charges include conspiracy to defraud the United States and violating federal anti-kickback laws.
