63-year-old Fair Wayne Bryant Granted Parole After Serving More Than Twenty Years of a Life Sentence For Stealing Hedge Clippers

63-year-old black man Fair Wayne Bryant in Louisiana made parole after being given a life sentence for stealing hedge clippers twenty-four years ago under Louisiana’s habitual offender law.

The Board of Pardons and Committee on Parole voted to release Bryant after the Supreme Court declined to review his sentence.

Bryant will be entering a program in Baton Rouge while living with his brother in Shreveport, LA. Bryant is still on parole and required to attend AA meetings and complete community service
