Author of Guerilla Film Grind Derrick Muhammad tells: “How to Make a Movie For Little to Nothing”

I caught up via Zoom with Independent filmmaker Derrick Muhammad who discussed being inspired to become a filmmaker after seeing Master P’s 1997 film “I’m Bout It”. He discussed that he had never been to film school and learned from books at the library, and how to edit at his local Public Access channel.

He talked about not having any mentors besides books such as “Rebel Without a Crew” by Robert Rodriguez and having to wanted to give back after distributing his first feature film “Gale & the Storm”.
