Fans Yell ‘You should have been George Floyd’ and ‘Get back to the fields’ at Black High School Baseball Player

A Black player named Jeremiah Chapman playing for Charles City High School could hear “several racist comments shouted from the crowd” during a game played at Waverly-Shell Rock High on June 27, according to an online statement from the Charles City Community School district and information from the school district communications director. Chapman’s mother Keisha Cummings posted about the incident on her Twitter.

Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District apologized in a Facebook post for the behavior.
