How Augustus Jackson the “Father of Ice Cream” Got the Historical Shaft
After working in the White House as a chef in the 1820s Augustus Jackson returned to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and paved the way by creating techniques to make the dessert marketable and also created a number of delicious flavors. An entrepreneurial genius who pretty much did the same for ice cream as Henry Ford did with the automobile. The reason that he hasn’t been given the credit is because Jackson failed to patent his work.
This is an image of Elijah McCoy another great Black inventor buy its not Augustus Jackson! Wrong Blavk man!
A failure to patent your work is not an historical shaft, it’s irresponsibility or at best nativity. Truth is truth, not reshaping history. He made a mistake at best.
