Pence Calls Attack On Saudia Arabian Oil Facilities “An Act of War” at Delivering Alpha 2019

Yesterday at the Delivering Alpha Conference Vice President Mike Pence while speaking with CNBC’s Joe Kiernen said “The attack on the Saudi Arabian oil facilities last Saturday was the largest attack on oil infrastructure in history. It was an act of war. And we do know from the Saudis on the initial examination that the weapons were Iranian weapons. And we’re engaged in organizing an international investigation to determine where those weapons were fired from.” Pence was careful in his words about the growing tensions between the U.S. and Iran but made it clear that an investigation is weighing and that the President would be limiting the number of Iranian visas to the UN General Assembly before assuring the public “But the American people can be confident that the United States of America is going to defend our interest in the region, and we’re going to stand with our allies” he said.
President Trump has continued to make peace efforts with Iran, despite advice from some analysts that Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is not interested. The conflict in the Middle East could end up being a political disaster for the Trump administration in the 2020 election. Pence also joked about the large Democratic field and criticized the party for its pride in socialism.
