Bandwagon Fans

Hey I love sports just as much as the next πŸ‘¦ or πŸ‘§.Β  But one thing that should not be allowed in sports is bandwagon fans. I always wondered what do bandwagon fans get out of following any sports team anyways.Β  Think about it. If you follow a team for the sole purpose that they are successful, you are goofier than a dog who loses his mind every time he sees his owner. Even if it was just an hour ago. There’s no element of suprise. Even Durant is bandwagon. He is arguably the best player in the NBA. Yet he went to a super team. No mystery. No challenge. Easy Championships. Is this what we have come to? Pick the best team and celebrate what? What we already new? I hate societies like “Red Sox Nation”. I fully support the Red Sox as a fan. I also followed them along with everyone else who did through the miserable 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. So when they won in 2004 it felt amazing and rewarding as a fan. You don’t get this feeling when your bandwagon. So what do you get? Bragging rights? I don’t think so! That’s only deserved if you where there for the bad times. I am not a fan of the New England Patriots. My team has not won a Super Bowl since 1972. And probably won’t live to see them win another one. Yet imagine if they did? Wow what a earned great feeling That would be. I’m sure you can imagine how much ribbing I’ve gotten in N.E. the last 15 years. Yet I didn’t buckle under the pressure. I was even offered a $1,000 to switch to N.E. and turned it down immediately. So come on fans!!! Be real!! Earn your fanism (sure that’s not a word, but you know what I mean). Until next time, be loyal, no matter who your team is.
