Fenway Park, Boston, MA – 4/11/17
Red Sox (4-3) 8 – Orioles (4-2) 1
Today is the 7th game of this beat writing gig and the facts are true about the Red Sox in regards to the difference between spring training ball and regular season ball. I was negative towards Tuesday nights starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz before he even took the mound and I was wrong. Last night Pomeranz went a solid 6 innings giving up only 1 earned run and 1 walk while striking out 6. It was somewhat of a pitching dual with Orioles Pitcher Dylan Bundy until the 7th inning where the Red Sox finally started to bring people home.
Vazquez went 4 for 4 with 2 runs, Young went 2 for 4 with 3 runs and my boy Benintendi went 3 for 5. The Red Sox defiantly have the bats to score runs and if they can wear down starting pitching like they have been doing and get into teams bullpens, then anything can happen.
The red Sox had back to back 3 run innings Tuesday helping get their 4th win of the season and go over 500 once again. The Red Sox have not been under 500 all season so far.
The Red Sox play again Tuesday day 4/12/17 at 7:10 PM EST against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway park in Boston, MA. Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright will take on Orioles pitcher Ubaldo Jiménez
The save the Citco Sign petition right now is 16K and climbing. Rumor has it that the rent for the Citco sign will go up to over 2 million a year. This is tragic to any Red Sox fan who has grown to associate Fenway Park and baseball with the giant flashing red gas station brand sign at Kenmore square. I ask all fans of baseball to please go to https://www.change.org/p/help-protect-a-boston-icon and take a second to sign and Save The Citco Sign!
