Pitching Sale – Game 6

Comerica Park, Detroit MI – 4/10/17

Red Sox (3-3) 1  – Tigers (4-2) 2

It was a good old fashion pitching dual in Detroit this afternoon. Verlander and Sales both went 7 innings and combined for 3 runs, 5 hits and 14 strike outs. Perhaps this is a post season preview? hmmmmm. Both teams bats were cold as ice with a combine 9 hits total.

One of Detroit’s runs came from a home run off Sale in the 6th from Kinsler for his 2nd of the year. Moreland on the Red Sox was the only player on the team to score a run. It was a quick game that lasted 2 hours and 44 minutes but did start off with a 36 minute delay due to weather.

This is the only time the Red Sox will be in Detroit this season, unless of course the two teams meet in the playoffs.

Detroit takes this series 3-1.

The Red Sox play again Tuesday day 4/11/17 at 7:10 PM EST against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway park in Boston, MA. Red Sox pitcher Drew Pomeranz will take on Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy.

on the final game of the series.

The save the Citco Sign petition right now is  16K and climbing. Rumor has it that the rent for the Citco sign will go up to over 2 million a year. This is tragic to any Red Sox fan who has grown to associate Fenway Park and baseball with the giant flashing red gas station brand sign at Kenmore square. I ask all fans of baseball to please go to https://www.change.org/p/help-protect-a-boston-icon and take a second to sign and Save The Citco Sign!
