Jet Blue Park, Ft. Myers Florida – 3/17/17
Red Sox 2 – Astros 6
It was St. Pats day and in Ft Myers Florida I was wrapping up a 4 day vacation that lasted 8 days. I went down to Ft. Myers to see the Red Sox play last Saturday at Jet Blue Park vs Tampa Bay and seen a nice 2-1 win for Boston with Sale on the mound. I was suppose to go home on Monday but due to snow and two cancellations of my flight, I finally got home last night. I did get a chance to see the Red Sox play Thursday night vs the Pirates at Jet Blue park and come back from 3 runs to win 4-3. Sale also pitched that game as well and the large group of Pittsburgh fans who came down to see the game wasn’t to pleased with the joy I had seeing Boston win.
The Sox didn’t have the same luck today at Jet Blue. Although the boys were wearing their St Patrick’s green jerseys, and green beer was flowing like air, the 8-10 Astro’s came back in late innings and beat the Red Sox 6-2. Rodriguez for the Sox pitched 4 innings giving up 2 hits, 3 walks, 6 K’s and no runs. It was the relief pitching that hurt the Sox, Noe Ramirez in particular pitching .1 innings and giving up 4 runs off of 5 hits.
The Sox offense was a little cold today only getting 2 runs off 5 hits and barely getting on base. My vacation is over so back to the beat writing. I hope you enjoy.
The Red Sox play again Saturday 3/18/17 at 1:05 PM EST against The Twins at Century Link Sports Complex in Ft. Myers Florida. Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello will take on Twins pitcher Ryan Vogelsong
The save the Citco Sign petition right now almost 15K and climbing. Rumor has it that the rent for the Citco sign will go up to over 2 million a year. This is tragic to any Red Sox fan who has grown to associate Fenway Park and baseball with the giant flashing red gas station brand sign at Kenmore square. I ask all fans of baseball to please go to https://www.change.org/p/help-protect-a-boston-icon and take a second to sign and Save The Citco Sign!
