People need to stop overanalyzing photos of Mars!

We all see photos like these on the internet from time to time. Some brief news article or website posts a picture taken by NASA’s Curiosity Mars Rover that looks comparable to something that we can identify with. While none of us can officially rule out that life existed or still exists on Mars, some people are really reaching.

I’ll admit, I have found a few photos taken on Mars to be quite odd. However, the vast majority are the result of your mind perceiving a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists. It’s called Pareidolia. You might have experienced this while looking at clouds before. The difference is, you know a cloud just looks like a face! So why can’t these people understand that they are just looking at a rock & not an actual artifact? It’s because they want to believe.

Rather than trying to debunk, they run with it and use it to fuel their beliefs & influence others. Just for the record, I’m open to the possibility that a civilization once existed on Mars. However, I’m not going to go waving a photo of a rock or erosion around claiming it’s proof. Let’s take a look.

I love when people try to classify something like this. It’s easy to say “Head, not human” isn’t it? I should start saying that about every photo that kinda resembles something, but can’t actually be compared to anything. It’s a rock!

I guess frogs exist on Mars also? Funny, all the smaller rocks around it seem to have similar characteristics, but because this one looks like a frog, it must be!

mars5wheat-thin

I can play this game too! It’s not a face. It’s a deformed wheat thin. If I come across one that looks like Jesus, I’ll be sure to alert the church.

Before you get excited & think we actually found pyramids on Mars, some people pull this shit & manipulate images. The image was tampered with. Someone decided to zoom in tilt it upright it to look like a giant pyramid. This is nothing more than a rock that is part of a bigger cropping.

These are just a small fraction of the types of photos that people use as ‘proof’ of life on Mars. If you like to search for suspicious images taken by our rovers on the red planet, make sure a link to the official nasa.gov site is provided with it. I have come across countless photos that I might consider odd, but with no NASA link to confirm it hasn’t been tampered with or photo shopped, I take it with a grain of salt.

I did mention earlier that I have seen a few photos that I truly find odd. While we are on the topic, let’s take a look at one.

Nature doesn’t usually make right angles, that’s usually a form of design created by an intelligence, so when I look at this photo above, it strikes me as odd. I’m not saying this was once part of a structure. I have no damn clue. I just find it interesting and worth noting.
