A few weeks back was my birthday, so the gang took me out to Sea Dog Brew Pub for some grub and drinks (solid spot in Woburn for brunch burgers, by the way, if you’re into that sort of thing. But I digress…)
Anyway, despite repeated attempts to guilt-trip me into ordering one of the brewpub’s house drafts (if I recall correctly, there was a fruity beer and some sort of porter on tap), I ended up going with this Shipyard bomber that was the strongest, most expensive bottle they’d got. It was, after all, my birthday.
And hell, was that one good beer. Personally, I always go for the pale ales when I’m pretending to be a beer connoisseur, so I’m a little bit biased. But if you’re into those microbrew Imperial IPAs that could get a horse toasty, you won’t be disappointed. Hoppy, heady and potent, this one was right up my alley.
