Movie Review: Barbershop: The Next Cut

Is this movie smashing? Did I use my new favorite word right? Smashing? -Steven Richard K

I haven’t seen the first two Barbershops so I don’t know what I’m getting myself into. This has a high Rotten Tomatoes score (93% of critics who reviewed it, liked it). But, A friend of a friend saw it and said it was no good. Who’s right?

I don’t feel insulted watching this movie, which is a good place to start. This has some pretty cheesy comedy but I did laugh a decent amount. They talk a lot about issues which is kinda neat. I can see this movie getting people to talk about subjects and opening people’s eyes to different perspectives.

I’m certain there are a lot of references I’m missing, but that’s okay.

I really like all the characters. Sometimes if they need to get out something they look at Cedric the entertainer who can roll is eyes or whatever.

Guys. This movie made me realize something. I think it might be nice to have sex with Nicki Minaj. She’s a nice looking lady.

This movie sort of felt like they were doing their best to please everybody (and I think they did a pretty good job). It almost felt like they got a computer to write a movie that everybody would like, successfully.

I liked it. I’m not sure why. But I did.

TLDR 3/5. A robot wrote this movie for everyone to enjoy.
