Made some plans for today. Time disappeared and also poor planning made those plans fall through.
To feel disappointment is to be human.
I got rear ended on my way to the theater. That’s nice. Wasn’t bad. Car looked fine. It’s nice to have an adrenaline rush from time to time. I’d rather get it from something else.
Also I’m seeing this movie with my wife, sister, and mother. This movie about 20 somethings having sex in a city is gonna be a fucking good time.
How To Be Single is an ensemble movie with a lot of likable characters that you care about. They did a decent job of character development (for the most part). Alison Brie (of Community and Mad Men), Leslie Mann (everything Apatow), Anders Holm (Workaholics), Rebel Wilson are all great. Dakota Johnson is the lead and she is lovable as well.
There was another small part in here with Jason Mantzoukas. He was as great as ever and left me wanting more of him. Dear Hollywood, Please give zooks all of the jobs. Thanks.
Random thought: when they were filming in Central Park, there was an airplane heard flying overhead. Normally movies and tv shows do everything in their power to cut that sort of thing out.
There are a couple emotional time bombs they plant in the movie, so watch out for those.
I liked this movie. It was sincere. I laughed and I cared about what happened to the characters. This came out on the same day as Deadpool, if you told me I was going to like this one more than that I would have thought you were crazy, but there you have it.
TLDR: 3.5/5. This is a pretty decent movie. Make it seem like her idea to see this one, you’ll get credit for it and you won’t suffer too much.
